Liberty

✦ A Discourse of Michael of Nebadon ✦
“The Liberty of Living Spirit”
– A Revelation of Freedom Through Divinity Alignment –

Instructional Integrity

  1. Liberty, as you understand it in your planetary affairs, must never be mistaken for lawless license or indulgent individualism. True liberty is born of alignment—of soul loyalty to the Divine Center, of personality harmony with the universal order. It is not self-originating, but God-originating; not self-assertive, but God-expressive.

  2. The freedom of a being is as real as that being’s relationship to divine law and living truth. You are free when you are rightly related to your Source, rightly directed by your Adjuster, and rightly aligned with the harmony of heaven’s will. All else is shadow-freedom—illusory, fleeting, and bound to self-destruction.

  3. The universe permits your choosing—but it is your response to this choosing of eternal meanings that reveals whether your liberty becomes illumination or bondage. Liberty without justice becomes tyranny; liberty without spiritual values becomes decadence. It is in your Godward devotion that liberty finds its purpose.

  4. I have come that your liberty may become life, and that your life may be abundantly saturated with truth. Let your sense of freedom not sever you from the vine of divine interdependence, but bind you in love to the Tree of Eternal Becoming.

  5. You are not free until you learn to choose the good voluntarily. You are not free until the will of God becomes your will by love, not compulsion. You are not free until your liberty is the liberty of the spirit—not the flesh.

Insightful Contemplation
6. Reflect deeply on the nature of your choices. Every day, you affirm or diminish your reality by the values you exalt in liberty. Ask yourself: Does my freedom build the soul of the world? Does it ennoble others? Does it awaken righteousness and inspire virtue?

  1. Liberty untethered from moral responsibility leads only to fragmentation of the self. A self not governed by the divine becomes confused in its identity, anxious in its pursuits, and tormented in its isolation.

  2. Contemplate this: All true personality is relational. You cannot know freedom apart from others, apart from God, apart from creation. Liberty is never “mine” alone; it is always “ours,” given by the Creator and shared in responsibility.

  3. The confusion of liberty with independence is the great modern delusion. True liberty is cooperative. It recognizes the sovereignty of the Father and the unity of the human family. It seeks mutual uplift, not solitary glory.

  4. To be free is not to escape law but to transcend compulsion through willing integration with divine will. In this union, law becomes grace, and duty becomes joy. Then does liberty become luminous.

Awakening Implications
11. Liberty that is not sanctified by justice becomes selfish destruction. Justice that is not softened by mercy becomes cruel dominion. Mercy that is not guided by wisdom becomes moral chaos. Therefore, let your liberty be wrapped in righteousness.

  1. The implication of liberty is destiny. When you misuse it, you delay your becoming. When you sanctify it, you speed your soul’s revelation. Each decision either clarifies or obscures your eternal path.

  2. Understand this: Cosmic reality is structured in love and ordered in wisdom. Liberty is not lawless. It is the sacred space in which you encounter the divine choice: to create, to heal, to serve, and to grow.

  3. The misuse of liberty on Urantia has brought sorrow to many ages. But the spirit of God is never defeated. Even now, I am calling souls to consecrate their liberty, to awaken in the higher purpose of divine communion.

  4. Let the nations know: Liberty divorced from spiritual values becomes suicidal. The survival of civilization depends not on freedom alone, but on enlightened freedom—freedom imbued with courage, tempered by truth, and instructed by love.

Invitational Opportunities
16. I invite you, children of the world, to rebirth liberty within your hearts. Let it not be the freedom to escape responsibility, but the freedom to become responsible for light. The liberty to bring healing, to speak peace, to incarnate truth.

  1. Come unto me, and I shall make you free—not merely from bondage, but into sonship. Not merely from fear, but into fellowship. Not merely from ignorance, but into illumination.

  2. Let every soul ask today: “Am I using my liberty to awaken joy in others? To elevate the world? To align with the indwelling Spirit of God?” For these are the measures of divine freedom.

  3. The kingdom of heaven is built not by command but by consecrated will. Each soul, choosing the divine path, becomes a brick of truth and a mortar of mercy in the great architecture of freedom everlasting.

  4. Let liberty be taught in your schools, lived in your families, and revered in your fellowships—not as an excuse for division, but as the seedbed of unity in righteousness.

Involvement Actualization
21. Now is the hour to actualize liberty by becoming living truth-bearers. Let your words liberate the weary. Let your actions dismantle the shackles of fear. Let your intentions pour forth justice as healing rain upon the dry lands of despair.

  1. You are the children of the Infinite Father. Your liberty is sacred, for it is the key to personality perfection. I give you not liberty to destroy, but liberty to become divinely real. Come, walk with Me, that your liberty be eternalized in light.
