Radiant Hours Communion with Christ Michael

Radiant Hours Dialogue for IO 100 – The Awakening of True Religion, drawn from Urantia Paper 5:5 – The Consciousness of God

This sacred conversation between Michael of Nebadon and a student of the City of God Sovereignty illuminates the divine paradox of God-consciousness, the ascent of religious realization, and the eternal destiny of the soul.

✦ The Radiant Hours Dialogue: “The Living Realization of God”

A Dialogue between Michael of Nebadon and a Student of the City of God Sovereignty
Inspired by Paper 5:5 – The Consciousness of God

Student:

Master, I wish to know God—not merely to believe, or to obey, or even to revere—but to know Him as real, to feel Him alive in me. But my reason falls short, and my emotions grow confused. How does one truly come to the consciousness of God?

Michael of Nebadon:
You speak from the yearning of the soul, and that is the beginning of all true worship. Know this, child of faith: God-consciousness is not confined to intellect, nor bound by emotion, nor trapped within creeds. It is a layered illumination of reality that dawns within mind, soul, and spirit, like the unfolding of divine light through a prism of personality.

Student:
But what of morality and reason? Are they not enough to lift me toward the divine?

Michael:
They are noble beginnings. Morality awakens with the rise of self-consciousness, and reason gives you the stage upon which to act nobly. But these alone cannot crown the soul with worship. True religion is born beyond morality, for morality guides your choices, but only spiritual desire can reveal the Infinite Father.

Student:
So religion begins not in the mind, but in the heart?

Michael:
It begins in response to life itself. In the battle for existence, in the ethical entanglements of society, in the choices of conscience—you are being prepared for the deeper surrender of soul. And when you sense your spiritual need, when you feel the pull of something more—then you are being called by the One who lives within you.

Student:
Yet the world tells me religion is just culture, or philosophy, or biology dressed in robes.

Michael:
Those are echoes, not the voice. Religion is not the extension of science, nor the flower of art, nor the cousin of ethics. It is a distinct realm of personal relation—between the mortal and the immortal, between time and eternity. True religion begins when the soul answers, “Here am I,” and God replies, “I am with you.”

Student:
But how can I worship rightly? Must I understand God to love Him?

Michael:
No, beloved. You do not worship because you comprehend—you worship because you believe, because you desire, and because you love. The Mystery Monitor, your indwelling Adjuster, makes worship possible. It is He who lifts your prayer beyond yourself and fills your hunger with the fragrance of eternity.

Student:
But how can I reconcile God’s presence within me with His rule over the galaxies? One feels so intimate, the other so infinite.

Michael:
Ah, this is the paradox of divinity. God is both immanent and transcendent. He lives within you as a fragment of His eternal self, and yet He encircles creation as Sovereign Source. Only by faith can you embrace this union. The transcendent Father and the indwelling Adjuster are one God—reaching into your life through love.

Student:
And how is this realization of God built within me?

Michael:
Through a sacred progression. First, you comprehend the idea of God—that is the mind’s light. Then you come to realize the ideal of God—that is the soul’s warmth. At last, you behold the spirit reality of God—that is the flame of divine presence. When these three unite within you, the Father becomes personally real.

Student:
And is this union possible for me, in this life?

Michael:
Yes, in faith. Though you may not grasp God in fullness, you may know Him in relationship. You may walk with Him, speak to Him, love Him. The Adjuster within you is ever teaching, ever guiding, ever longing to be one with you. This is the gift of God-consciousness.

Student:
How do I know that I am truly becoming God-conscious?

Michael:
By these fruits: A unified awareness of purpose. A deepening sense of moral value. A growing joy in divine companionship. If your worship bears peace, and your service bears love, and your life reflects devotion—then the Spirit of Truth bears witness within you.

Student:
Even so, many around me seem far from this joy. What of those whose minds are untrained, whose lives are hard, whose hearts are broken?

Michael:
Do not judge by the surface of life. The seed of eternal survival lies not in education or culture, but in the choice of the heart. A soul who desires God, who yearns to be like Him and chooses to do His will, is embraced by the Spirit—even in ignorance, even in sorrow.

Student:
So every person can begin this journey?

Michael:
Yes. The presence of the Adjuster is not limited to the worthy, the wise, or the worldly. It is a divine trust placed in each being who can discern good from evil and desire the light. Each such one may grow an immortal soul.

Student:
What then is required of me?

Michael:
That you sincerely seek God. That you honestly desire to become like Him. That you elect, with reverence and resolve, to do the will of the Father. This is not a transaction—it is transformation. It is the birthing of eternal identity.

Student:
And if I stumble?

Michael:
Then rise again. For the Adjuster is patient. He is love in its most sublime intimacy. He is your bridge to Paradise. Every effort you make to align your will with God’s is blessed and magnified by His presence within you.

Student:
Then let my soul be His temple. Let my worship be sincere, my service pure, and my thoughts anchored in this divine friendship.

Michael:
And so shall it be. You are not alone. You live in God and God lives in you. Let that realization be your sunrise each day. The consciousness of God is the strength of the soul.
